Aliza Walas
Welcome to Aliza’s Tutoring Academy where your child will receive
I have over 18 years experience working with children ages 3-11 years.
My favorite part of teaching is forming relationships and seeing their light-bulb moment. By becoming your child’s personal tutor/mentor I can help them reach their maximum potential in all academic areas of school.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and Psychology from National Louis University, and became a classroom teacher in 2005. To be able to teach the diverse learners in my community I earned my ESL and bilingual (Hindi) endorsement, Masters in Reading specialization, and special education certification. Over the years, I have also taught a teacher certification course at Loyola University, Chicago, IL, and have been nominated for the prestigious Golden Apple award.
My experience of 18 years in a public school has allowed me to successfully teach children with an array of learning needs.
